back to article Subjects bestow Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 on Queen

The Queen is getting a tablet - sorry, ‘teblet’ - and it’s a Samsung. A Galaxy Note 10.1 will be presented to QE 2.0 today and it will come pre-loaded with the specially selected reminiscences of some 60 of her subjects, one for each year of her reign and taken from the Jubilee Time Capsule project. Speaking as a South African, your spelling makes the article sound more like it was read by a Joburger than a Royal.

    Archive.

"As it comprises more than 150GB of data, it’s too big to put on the 64GB Galaxy Note..."

Surely one's archive could have been provided on a flesh mem'ry drive, maybe in a tasteful 24 carat gold casing, that one could pleg into one's teblet when one wished to view it?

Then one would have the use of one's internal storage for one's collection of titillating photographs and moving pictures, as one's subjects do.

    'By Royal Appointment' ?

Can Sammy now put that on stuff? Can imagine a certain irked fruitmonger if they could

That's what I thought. According to the article on the 100 Samsung TVs the palace ordered, they cannot say 'by royal appointment' until they have been used for 5 years. The TV article was in December 2006 so surely they are now 'by royal appointment'.

Not if they had to go back within those five years due to uneven backlighting!

Samsung already hold a royal warrant:

Supplier of Televison and Audio Visual Products

HM The Queen - Master of the Household

      Granted in 2012

I have a feeling that the mighty Apple would be more in favour of a Republic.

Except Apple got there first again. President Obama gave her an iPod.

She'll be seriously p*ssed if it's the one Judge Birss rubished LOL

They haven't a royal warrant, but Mr Ive did become Sir Jony. Maybe because he has the same taste in motorcars.

Perhaps a different brand of tablet would of been better?

There are other manufacturers who make tablets that have this capacity, such as Archos with their 250GB HDD model of the Gen9 series.

But the French executed their Royals. England only infrequently and mostly by other Royals, but after Cromwell it seemed a good idea to have them back.

Mmmmm cheap flexi-plastic cases with piss poor build quality, ideal as a demo piece one thinks.

    Not a good idea.

If my collection of shiny toys from yesteryear is anything to go by, after 3 years or so the battery on that thing is going to be totally shagged and unusuable. A shame really. I'd love to get my hands on a fully working good condition Tungsten T3. =/

It's not like that when you're very rich.

She'll hand it to a servant and say, "Have this rooted and reflashed. I'd like to try MoDoCo's latest stable offering."

If I had coffee, I'd need a new keyboard now! Of course, tiny edit:
