    99% SLA woefully inadequate

    The fabled 'two nines' level of reliability promises almost 4 days of down time a year. "Bob's Bargain Baits" may be happy with that for their website, but there is no way I'd put real services up onto that sort of architecture.

      Don't worry, we wouldn't really expect you to - as the article said, "The MegaShift tier has a two-day response time with a 99 per cent uptime service level agreement, according to Roth, who says that some companies will think this is fine for production applications and others will not." No-one's figuring you're going to put anything really vital onto it until the guarantees get stronger. There are things that can sensibly be called 'production applications' which aren't mission-critical, where it's not horrible if they're down four days a year.
