I assume its down to the crimes reports being associated with a street address - thus anything in the park will appear on a neighbouring street.

Might be useful for crims searching for richer pickings.

That's correct. All crime data is linked to streets. So you see spikes outside shopping centres and similar places that attract large crowds.

Apps unnecessary

Why put up with adverts, or choose to pay for data that is already available and presented better through your browser (www.police.uk).

Those of us living in London even have another rich online crime map available (maps.met.police.uk) and many other forces are getting onboard too.

Not everything needs an app when it can be presented well elsewhere.

Is this data allowed to be used in this way? By that I mean displayed in an ad supported or paid for app.

Fair enough the data should be there for anyone to do what they like with but should that include using it to make money?
