Hard to follow

It's not clear that the first sentence "fibre to the premises is essential" is supported by the article, which instead seems to indicate that a fibre-to-the-node network is essential -- and that a vender-neutral fibre-to-the-premises network is a business opportunity for VHA.

Which is disappointing. I'd be interested in an article that teased out the differences, and offered some detail.

VHA doesn't have any network-to-the premises cabability, so NBNs network to the premises is a big step for them.

VHA and Optus are both trialing femtocell technology.

(and no, I do not own shares in it).

The best and fastest way of dealing with mobile coverage has always been to send the mobile data to the nearest tower and from there for it to use land-lines to get to its destination (or to the closest mobile tower to the destination). Trying to piggy-back the data over airways only is stupid.
