I like the colours, but, plasticky brand identities have lately been associated with very low cost phones for 12 year olds, which cost £20 and are no great loss if they get run over by a bus. The phones I mean, not the 12 year olds. Nokia are trying to move away from that price segment. Tricky one.
If the 710 sells for Nokia's recommended price it will be about £277 SIM free (including tax). The equivalent price for the 800 is £431. The phones are nearly identical apart from the display (the 710 has a TFT, the 800 OLED), a slightly downgraded camera and a less sexy (but probably more practical case).
So of course Nokia don't want to put the 710 on the market before Christmas!
