Not surprised
Took BT Wholesale a month to cure my broadband fault - but they sent BT Openreach engineers out 4 times before realising their own equipment was at fault.
BT reported second quarter sales of £4.89bn, a 2 per cent drop, while pre-tax profits rose 15 per cent to £570m for the period ended 31 September. Earnings per share rose from 5.1 pence to 5.6 pence and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation were up 3 per cent at BT, with the company reporting £1.49bn …
.... BT are becoming increasingly marginalised and less important by the month.
France Telecom and Deutch Telecom, for example, are expanding in Europe and Africa and are adding subscribers an revenues through their mobile businesses.
On the flip side, BT are making the bulk of their money from the UK market and a small fraction from wholesale in some Euro' countries.
Maybe it is about time BT started expanding more aggressively before they themselves become an acquisition target, like Orange did. Oh and Cellnet. And the Mercury who eventually became Everything Everywhere [or more accurately called 'some things, sometimes.].

What an odd post. What you say simply isn't true.
A huge amount of BT's revenue comes from overseas. It has large operations all across Europe, in the americas and in the Asia Pacific region. Bigger global operations than T-Systems or Orange.
How could profit and free cashflow be increasing if what you say is true?
