    At last...

    I commuted in Tokyo for 7 years. The way Tokyo train passengers push, jostle, pick their noses, snort, sneeze in your face, openly read porn and hog priority seats while pregnant women and other needy folk have to stand, it's good that there are now light sabres on hand to mete out swift justice.

      Openly reading porn?

      Forgive my naivety, but surely one reads porn (well, looks at the pictures) for erm "specific activities", that one probably cannot do even on a Tokyo subway. Are there people who just look at porn without performing "specific activities"? To what end?

        I've only spent a couple weeks in Tokyo but this is true. Some guys read pornographic comic books on the train. From a distance it just looks like a comic book. But if you're close enough to see the pictures, there is no doubt what the characters are doing.

          You can go to any 7-11, Circle K etc and pick up "porno manga" .. its right next to the womens fashion and golf ball of the month magazines.. all the sexy parts are censored. Surprisingly enough different countries have different rules on what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.

          If some guy wants to quietly read censored porn do you really care that much? Would you rather have people blasting rnb out of the tinny speakers on their phones, throwing rubbish every where, being gobby shits etc?

          And to the guy that complained about getting pushed around etc... is there a train network anywhere in the world that doesn't have that. The london undergound has that, the tokyo metro has that, the paris metro has that, the bay area BART has that. I've never been on a municipal transport network that wasn't hell at peak times. Sure you didn't have "oh japan is soo baaad boohooo" syndrome?

      too bad..

      ...you can't rip'em off and shove them right up these obnoxious train passengers, right where the sun doesn't shine.

      And when they start to push you around, fake the fact you are tripping and reach out with your hands for balance... right up on their faces. Shoving your hand on people's faces works every time. Go for sharp nails. Wash later.

      Should they re-release 300, some dudes wearing a ginormous shield would scream "aahooooo" and shove everybody on the platform back, giving you enough room to leave the train, before more people try to come in. It gets - literally - on my tits how annoying the whole situation is.

    There are dozens of railway lines in Tokyo. It's a shame that none of the English articles bothered to report which is the line with the Star Wars promotion.
