I'd normally criticise a Intel aquisition

But this might be a winner.

Networking manufacturers (particularly the 10GigE, low latency crowd) have got to there present performance level with process shrinks.

If Intel can give them a 0.5-1 node process lead, maybe network interconnects would become as much a commodity as x86 CPU's....
