    Wonderful idea </sarcasm>

    because roto-rooters, widely used to clear liquid-amber roots, are just so gentle with fibre-optic cables. Plus skilled technicians, working with ultra-pure glass and silica fibre fusion machines, can't wait to get up to their knees in s**t.
