back to article Wii 2 announcement in June

File this one under 'bloody obvious if you think about'. Nintendo's next Wii will be capable of HD output, it has been claimed with such a high level of likelihood, it'll only be wrong if the console pioneer's managers have gone seriously round the twist. The 'claim' comes from GameInformer, which cites multiple sources, …

So, let me see if I've got this right.

The Wii, pioneer of motion control hardware and gaming, is about to be updated, but your sources cannot say whether or not it will use motion control?

Put your analyst on danger money, baby. And fire your sources, whilst you're at it.

    err

I'm not one to usually criticise a story at its fundamental levels, but this one is a non-event!

You could have saved yourself several paragraphs by summing it up in the heading and sub heading:

    > Wii 2 announcement in June

    >> "will have HD" -- that is all

    I would prefer it..

If they didn't hype up the next Wii.

I would prefer that all companies and media outlets only reported on facts and not rumours - talked about products that had been released and are now available.

A never-ending pile of rumours and conjecture helps no-one aside from the marketing types that live off this waste of time.

    Blimey

Looks like I know more about the new Wii than their sources! And no, I'm not telling.

Nintendo really have got their cards (and penalty clauses) sorted out.

      " Pooh"

      Or just "Number 2"?

The child in me will out 156% of the time.

And there was me thinking about buying one

Seriously late adopter, but we just borrowed one for Wii fit after an ankle injury and will buy one when the lenders return. Now we'll wait.

Doesnt really matter if its HD..

regardless of how good the new hardware may be, Nintendo will still only sell the sames games its been selling for the past 20 years, and most people lose interest in those games soon as they pass 10 years old.

    Will they sort online

The online thingy is incredibly painful.

I have seen the hassle trying to conect to friends.

They will need a proper friends system.

    FAIL

    So ultimately,

Both Microsoft's and Nintendo's strategy to beat Sony's success with the PS2 was to short-circuit the gaming generation by 5 years, bringing out cheap half-baked tat, and expect consumers to foot the bill by buying multiple times.

    That's really consumer friendly, not......
