back to article Cops cuff nappy-wearing man who demanded sweets with menaces

A man was facing disorderly conduct charges yesterday after after swearing at trick-or-treating kids while wearing nothing but a very large nappy. Joseph DiVanna, 47, from Florida, launched a series of tirades against trick-or-treaters and their adult chaperones in West Ocean City on Sunday. When not swearing he apparently …

Did he ask someone to pull his finger as well?

Sounds like something out of a old episode of Rugrats.

Anyways, sounds like perp may have been drunk or something.

The beauty of such a thing is that you can just keep drinking and spewing invective, without having to take the occasional pit stops indoors for the periodic call of nature.

And on another topic, if it was in Florida, he wouldn't be wearing a napkin (or "nappy" if you prefer the diminutive of same) unless, I suppose, he had just come from a naked dinner party.

Which I NEVER get invited to, for some reason. I blame congress.

Perhaps if you have a weird fettish...

...it would be best to just NOT open the door on Halloween. I mean, October 31st, dusk falls, doorbell rings, it's not gonna be the Jehovah's Witnesses, is it?

      Not really.....

"Perhaps if you have a weird fettish it would be best to just NOT open the door on Halloween".

I see this from a totally different perspective. Where privacy is respected.

If you go knocking on someones private residence door begging under threat of being egged and flowered then you should damn well expect the unexpected. I would want the law on my side, not the beggars and pikeys. Trick or treat is great when its little kids with their parents, but most of the time its intimidating toothless chavs with lonsdale baseball caps under their burberry hoodies. I tip my hat to this chap for giving them a surprise.

        @ It wasn't me

I have no problem in respecting privacy. If the guy wants to go around diapered, that's his own business? We'll skip over the "does he use it" issue and just... no, ick...

But the moment he opens to door, it is no longer private. Otherwise, we could extrapolate to say it's perfectly okay to go to Walmart <cough>dressed</cough> like that, so long as he doesn't disturb anybody. But is it? And yes, I'm aware of "People of Walmart".

"most of the time its intimidating toothless chavs"

No, it isn't. Do you really do buy in to the whole "children are evil and must be feared" bollocks? 'Cos that's what's undermining community cohesion, not trick-or-treat.
