What if Iran produced the worm itself so it (a) can blame Israel for the delay, (b) does not lose face (as much) when the reactor does not work, and (c) can go after dissident factions in Iran as co-conspirators in league with Zionists (always a nice ploy).

Nah! Much more likley is that the Russian FSB introduced the worm as a means of retaining control of the whole Iranian nuke processing chain should Iran get uppitty. After all, no-one spent more in the last thirty years on hacking Western computer systems than the Russians.

Why wouldn't it work? It's Russian built, and they have decades of experience with these things. Besides, the process for how a nuclear reactor works is so simple its taught in high school.

Iran has never shown it needs an excuse to go after dissidents, and very few experts on Iran doubt that Israel is helping to stir shit up in Iran.

Was Al-MadBoob involved in the Iranian nuke project? No, he was an arms buyer for Hezbollah. Somehow, I don't think the same crew that whacked him would be looking to inject code into SCADA devices.
You lot are also very stupidly underestimating the CIA. I know it's thought hip and cool in the US to publicly diss the CIA at every chance, but they have a history of being on the button on Iran's and Syria's nuke projects. If you look at the evidence presented by the CIA regarding the Syrian reactor bombed by the Israelis, as part of the proof of what the building was they had onsite shots of the interior of the building, pics of the kit, and even a pic of one of North Korea's leading nuke engineers posing outside the building with one of Syria's top scientists. How the CIA managed to get someone inside to such a trusted level that they could get such pics speaks volumes on the capability the CIA has of penetrating even totallitarian regimes like Syria. Compared to that, sneaking some USB keys into Iranian office would be a breaze.
I wouldn't put it past them. At the same time, Israel is much more badass than the USA, so I kind of want to believe that it was Israel who worked on the virus and got it in there.
The "spies" who Iran is blaming for the infection are probably "hanging out" in some torture rooms right now.
Its US of A that buys bunker-busting bombs from Israel, not the other way around.
Besides that, experts have confirmed that Iran is not among the countries capable of producing this level of cyberwarfare. And think of it if iran was staging this up they could use bombs to destroy their computers and say it was Israel,not that anybody believes iran but they do not need to developed the most sophisticated malware known to man so far for a pointless con Iran anyway blames Israel for everything.
