Audion Lives!
Mike, there most certainly IS a version of Audion for OSX. Go to the Panic website and it's there on the 'Extras' page (there's a link for the serial number free as well so you can rip streams with it) and I have it on my MacPro running Leopard and it's on my husband's MacBook running Snow Leopard (you DO have to install Rosetta support for that though). The faces work as well, though if you CAN make heads or tails of the 'Taed' face, you'll be my hero. Forever. LOL!
FWIW, I also am running iTunes 4.6 on my MacPro, as it will allow a bulk renaming of album and artist by selecting the whole album and typing in the name once.. somewhere along the line iTunes lost this ability. I think it got tossed because most people connect to the internet when they put in their CD's so the CDDB works for that.
Thoroughly frustrating that this function seems lost, but oddly enough I have BOTH versions - 9.2 AND 4.6 on my systems (I have three) and there's only 1 preference file setting and it's universal. The libraries are different for each as I am in constant flux with adding and moving songs, 'cos I've got the machines tied to a home music 'jukebox' in my living room. It's an XPF install of Tiger on a Beige G3 with a Sonnet CPU upgrade and a bucket-load of fun stuff in.

It's cool how the three cloned preferences I have all play on different hardware with the SAME settings - like you I have the Music Store shut off, I'm a vinyl junkie and rip my own CD's with Coaster 1.0 in OS 9 and do the mp3 encoding in iTunes 1.1 (384k, VBR highest quality)!
No spying on me.. though God only knows what good that would do anyone that wants to look - I'm a total saddo with naught much more than old country rips..
