    Endemol

    What was that saying again...

Endemol made their money shovelling shit (London sewers)...

    and nothing really changes...

The Young Ones has aged badly

Wouldn't mind a look at Ripping Yarns and possibly some classic Who, though. Bottom is quite funny (if gross) on occasion. The Young Ones is best left in a cloud of nostalgia, though..

      Left to nostalgia?

Vivian: "What do you do for a hangover?"

Mike: "Drink heavily the night before."

      Still cracks me up...

I'm sure there are good moments

Overall, though, it really does look rather dated these days.

Blackadder (series 2), on the other hand, has barely aged.

    WTF?

    *After* the show?

    - This life enriching episode of Wife Swap was great! Want to go out?

    - No, hold on, let's wait for the last ad to finish

    30 sec ads?

Its still better than all satellite / cable TV channels. When watching some channels and some 'special' feature was on, like a movie less than five years old, you had to wait over 7 mins per ad break!! Then there were about six or seven for the course of the movie.

I wouldn't mind so much if all ads aren't so stupid and inane.

...better for the time being of course.

    No download?

It would be useful if you could download WMV files like you can on iPlayer.

    Doesn't like "Chrome" apparently

(trying to) watch on ubuntu on Chrome and the site says....:

"To experience the best MSN Video has to offer, we recommend a more recent browser such as Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 3."

Nothing's playing yet - I think my version of flash is too old...

    FAIL

    Eugh

I can deal with the odd ad, but the quality is pretty unwatchable.

    I'll stick to torrents, thanks.

    "Not avaiable in your region"

So not only does the site apply the UK-only BBC licence, it adds insult to injury by foisting ads on the hapless viewers.

Looks like it's just the Beeb trying to squeeze extra income out of old shows via "outsourcing". Good luck to them, although I still think they'd sell more DVDs and VOD is they actually allowed furriners to watch at least the trailers (I kid you not, even BBC trailers are restricted viewing).

    not available in my region

I tried to have a look, but everything is marked "Not available in your region". As my region is Hampshire, this can mean only one thing: Wessex has finally gained independence from the UK. Hurrah!

Quickly! Run and notify the Earl!
