This is the important bit which you didn't carry in your article, El Reg/Gavin Clarke in San Francisco ...... "Our plan is to shut down kenai.com and focus our efforts on java.net as the hosted development community. We are in the process of migrating java.net to the kenai technology. " .... because does that suggest that Kenai is AIDriver for Java.net Master Pilots ...... and ESPecially Targeted JOINT Applications of Virtually Advanced Analytical Algorithm, which then does have one questioning the Wisdom of Oracle to both the Fool and Savants whenever one can read of this retrograde, business-suicide step ..... "Sun's copy of Amazon's cloud was killed by the Oracle deal, with the database giant's chief corporate architect Edward Screven saying last month Oracle has no plans to become a provider of hosted cloud services."

Well, a big goodbye to Chris Melissinos from Puppygames, he was one of the few people to believe in a Java games studio and a tremendous help to us over the years. It is a great shame he wasn't really given the resources to achieve his goals at Sun.

    Cas :)

    FAIL

    Don't feel sad

He'll have a nice package. At his level the very least in his pocket will be 2yrs salary + 100% potential bonus for 2 years. All detailed in the quickly revised VP/Directors payoffs in Sun's filings last year.

Fail - because senior management lined their own pockets.

Like El Reg said a couple weeks ago...

    A) LJE *hates* "cloud computing" with a passion.

    B) Sun should be in the business of selling hardware for people to do cloud computing, not doing the cloud computing itself.
