little death?
Can web sites have orgasms?
The Applestore went dead this morning, sending Mac cultists into a frenzy of speculation over what goodies Saint Steve might shower upon them later today. The store's petit mort came as just ahead of the opening of Macworld 2010 in San Francisco - not that Steve or anyone else from Apple plans to make an appearance there this …
I too am utterly sick of the constant hyperbole surrounding every little fart Jobs squeaks out, but, equally I'm just as sick of El Reg giving said flatulence coverage, please stop reporting these bloody non news stories. Once, just once,I'd like to go a day without reading apple related bollox.
AND there is, of course, the very real risk that we just come across as nothing more than petty kids writing off everything apple says just because we think their company is created by, and for, wankers. (which of course it is,but that's besides the point)
.. and Apple usually do store updates on a Tuesday and fairly regularly in my experience .. yes there may be new kit coming out but probably related to updates to one or more of the following which are overdue (based on previous update cycles)
Macbook Pro's
Mac Pro's
Macbook Air
Aperture 3 (press release has announced it)
Non-cultists can more along.
Yup, just new software. Other than that, some new graphics, cleaned up outdated "new" tags, fixed the "order by" date on iPods for Valentine's day to be not yesterday, that's it.
Aperture itself is an awesome program, but i have not yet had the desire to spend $179 on it (teacher discount, normally $199). We're getting 2 new cameras this year, and that will probably change my outlook, but I'll probably hold off and get iLife/iWork 10 and Aperture all at the same time.
..then noticed that Bibble 5.0.1 was actually useful, and that I qualified for a free upgrade- and that runs on my Linux, MacOS and Windows boxes, which is hella handy.
Aperture is surprisingly nice, but I don't always want to be just tied to the Mac, given that I have colour corrected environments set up under all three...
