back to article BeautifulPeople ejects post-Xmas fatties's beautiful users have turned on those unwise enough to admit they've overdone it on the turkey and pud over Xmas, and as a result 5,000 newly-lardy members of the "sexiest website in the world today" have been given their marching orders. According to the BBC, the victims were "singled out after posting …

    Best. Statement. Ever.

Don't hold back, tell 'em what you really think:

"Site founder Robert Hintze declared: "As a business, we mourn the loss of any member, but the fact remains that our members demand the high standard of beauty be upheld. Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which was founded.""

    I love it.

I wouldn't be allowed on there anyway - I'd make them all look bad.

    Beautiful people my ar$e

Since when was vanity a trait of being beautiful? These people are shallower than a gnat's paddling pool and quite frankly, wanting to belong to this site should be reason enough for someone not qualifying to belong to it.

Bonfire of the too bloody Vain

So, because people have put on roughly, what, a stone? maybe? they are now considered "fatties" and no longer beautiful enough to be a member of this club for elitist retards? lovely, shows how much society has improved over the years and how tolerance prevails.

So despite the fact that I have modelled and done headshots for hair product companies, my rather sturdy 23 stone frame would deem me not suitable... yet my face is considered good enough to be put into advertising?

I wonder if they have ever heard the phrase pertaining to the ocular region of a beholder..

    So what?

The fact that people patronise such pathetic websites in the first place says far more about them than any weight problem.

Unlike a lot of the dating sites out there. Rather be dating a fattie than a fake, don't you think?

Do you actually know of anyone ejected?

    If you're so beautiful....

    ...why are you single?

Oh becuase your shallow, insecure (remember they WILL run off when your looks leave you) and self centre.

Oh I'm not "beautiful" but have dated a pro catwalk model and my wife is described as "fit". Amazing what booze and a little charm can do :-0

So I take it none of the above who are enthusiastically condemning the concept of this site have _ever_ refused to consider _any_ other person as a potential partner on the basis of any facet of physical appearance?

Oh, balls. I bet you all have. Everyone's 'shallow', if you define it in those terms. Yes, it's terrible and unfair &c &c &c but people are basically wired to consider potential partners in terms of how physically attractive they find them. The only person I've ever met who has never done this in any way at all is blind. Do you condemn all other dating sites for offering people the ability to post a picture of themselves? Isn't that essentially the same thing?

    1. Peter Kay

      It's a question of degree

There's a difference between 'beautiful' and 'pretty enough'.

It's true that wanting someone for an aspect of their intelligence is not necessarily any better than expecting a partner over 6 feet tall, but it's more usual to select based on appearance than require your date to have a pHD (yes, I know of someone who does insist on that, and they're unnecessarily restricting their options too).

Once someone achieves 'pretty enough' status, other factors take precedence. Adding extra beauty onto that doesn't achieve much.

I also object to the idea that someone else can identify who fits my idea of beauty. Whilst some notions of beauty are fairly objective, others are not necessarily so.

I would have thought people reading this site could out-photoshop (or out-gimp) the fakers on the site to gain admission. On the other hand - why bother?

As Jamie Kitson commented - this could be one massive PR stunt - the BBC have published this story and due to reduced staffing, many publications simply swallow commercial material without any investigation...

    Laughed my moobs off!

Can't help wonder why all these wonderful, beautiful people would need a dating web site.

Could it be because they are thicker than a yard of lard, struggle with conversations that contain sentences of more than one word, and have all the charm of an in-grown toe nail?

Or possibly I'm just jealous. Maybe my New Year resolutions should have included "make time for arse crack waxing and stubble preening"

Reminds me of a hair dresser I dated (once) a long time ago. After 30 minutes of her vitriolic comments on the appearance of every other person in the pub, I began to realise that the only thing we had in common was that we both thought she was good looking. I do hope she managed to work out how to get a bus home.

  15. Peter Kay

    Definitely a PR stunt

Look at the numbers - 300K applicants, 27% admissions if you're lucky. It's a worldwide dating site, though, so local numbers are much lower. Fortunately they have a nicely unrestricted guest search function. Whole UK search returns 204 pages of 50 people a page=10,200 people.

10,200 initially sounds like enough but more specific searches returns one set of results in Manchester, and five in London. It doesn't even have a postcode search.

As a comparison, some of the most popular UK sites supposedly have 500,000 to 1,000,000 members (not all active, of course). 10,200 or 500,000 - I know where I'd place my bets.

Then, of course, there are the pictures. Whilst few people can of course aspire to be as amazing as myself even the most permissive might perhaps consider that some of the users don't match a fairly liberal definition of 'beautiful' except with certain beholding eyes and there are certain usernames including what I imagine is the deliberate 'Iareafatty'..

The site is dying on its arse and is desperate for new members. Remind me to laugh at the next 'beautiful' idiot who complains that the only people who contact them are ones they don't like, yet they still get plenty of interest..

    Nothing beautiful about these people

Maybe you've heard the saying "no matter how hot she/he is, someone, somewhere, is sick of their shit"? You can bet your (presumably lardy) ass that applies to just about everyone on that site.

Sadly most of them will just never get why they can't hold down a relationship (clue: two shallow self-absorbed narcissists does not a stable relationship make), while a supposed "nottie" like me can be very happily married and even better, not worried about what might happen to that relationship when my looks fade.

@"A site that requires its users to be vacuous, shallow and egotistical"

In other words, its a site designed to appeal to Histrionic and Narcissistic people. (Histrionic (HPD) and Narcissistic (NPD) as in cluster B personality disorders). Hardly surprising then that the site ends up behaving in a Narcissistic way to arrogantly throw out 5000 and then uses that "news" to gain press attention, which is exactly the behavior of attention seeking Histrionic people.

For example, in the case of HPD (Histrionic Personality Disorder) their need for attention also manifests as a need to deprive others of attention, so they can regain the center of attention. In the case of NPD (Narcissistic personality disorder) their need for power over others also manifests as a need to deprive others of power, so they can regain the center of power over the majority of people around them.

Therefore these People are anything but Beautiful. They are arrogant self centered attention seekers. NPDs + HPDs. Sadly that makes them perfect candidates for reality TV which is why reality TV is so boring.

HPD is the result of a child growing up deprived of parental attention (mild patterns of this behavior are due to for example divorce and/or sibling rivalry competing for attention, whereas in extreme cases, its the result of parental neglect).

NPD is the result of a child growing up exposed to authoritarian control over them. (In extreme cases physical abuse). This kind of child grows up fearful of ever having someone gaining power over them ever again, the way they suffered as a child, so they fight to be the one with the power over others. Also as they have so little empathy towards others, they can also often use lies to manipulate and win over others, simply as to them, the ends justify their means. Worse still, they can even see their lies as good as it gives them power over others to allow them to manipulate other people.

So they are not role models, they are broken people. But then that is also why they aggressively and arrogantly try so hard to be seen as role models.

Reminds me a bit of FaceParty

I remember last year or the year before, FaceParty attempted some PR BS about how they were immediately excluding all over 35s from their site because of the risk of pedophilia. Obviously utter rubbish, as the real reason was that they lost their advertising revenue and couldn't afford to keep up the servers for the amount of members they had. As a result, it degenerated into a cesspit of 19 year old single-mother-of-fives with their saggy tits hanging out and chav-infested blokes with dodgy Vauxhall Novas.

This is most likely a PR stunt to generate traffic to their small website. If pushed to look deeper, they probably only removed the accounts of people who hadn't logged in for the last 12 months or something similar.

Paris because she's probably a member...

Since those seem to be the usual female and male paths to beautifulness. might make a good alias for all of these.

Gimme good ol' down to earth sites like the gay, whereon at least one member weighs over 500 lbs and has the chutzpah to himself in his skivvies.

Perhaps relevant is the comment that "fat girls didn't get that way by denying themselves the pleasures of the flesh."

    Where to find beautiful people...

I looked at the site. It wanted me to sign up. Awoooga! It's (yet) another dating site.

I didn't sign up as I can't imagine the people are *that* good looking. The pretty girls always found relationships at school, even the nerdy ones. So they won't need a site like this. And what sort of egos are being massaged to have a dating site promoted as "beautful" people?

If I want to look at good-looking girls, I visit and there's no need to sign up!

    1. Marvin the Martian

Think a bit deeper about it.

The web site's full title is "(quite) Beautiful (but otherwise damaged) People."

Indeed, the /sweet-natured/ pretty girls always found relationships at school, and even the /needy and bitchy/ ones did for the timescales that go with school love, where you're surrounded daily by bored hormonal masses. Later in life, that changes. "Previous results no guarantee" etc.

/beer as it has the opposite effect --- it makes the fun people look good.

    User vetting...

From looking at the article writers "attempt" to join, do the USER BASE vote for if someone is accepted?

If that is the case, some "pretty" people will also vote off people that are "pretty" or "prettier" because they probably wouldn't want someone prettier than themselves.

And the same could go for mass exodus... they just want to get rid of as many "competition" as possible...

    Again, probably publicity stunt...

The good thing about a site like this is you know the losers are all in one place. I would hazard a guess that any 'match' this site produces will work its way quickly and inevitably towards failure.

The unfortunate part about all this is the almost certain Darwinist nightmare. If too many of these people are allowed to procreate, their offspring are going to be born with the genetic handicaps normally associated with incest.

On the other hand even if all 295,000 had been allowed to join, that still represents less than 1/2 of 1 percent of the British population. So some hope does exist for our nation if only 0.492% of Britons are this shallow and vain.
