Guess what?
You could save yourself even more money/hassel by not buying it in the first place.
The PlayStation Portable Go only launched in the UK last week, but Blighty's retailers have already kicked off a PSP price war. Sony’s RRP for the PSP Go is £225 ($360/€244), but Amazon’s UK arm has already slashed its asking price for the console to £200 – a £25 saving. HMV and Game have followed suit. But Currys is refusing …

Have you even seen one up close? The build quality is superb along with the other features. It's much improved on the previous PSP builds. I should know... I've owned all of them.
"I don't hate Sony and I think the PS3 is a good machine but I object to Sony limiting me to downloads"
But Sony have been criticised about UMD's for years. What do you suggest? I guess they can't win.
"or having to use two different PSPs."
So why not? Is it too much effort for you? Poor soul... my heart bleeds... Progress means that things move on and many manufacturers don't even give it a second thought. I'm waiting on my new Dell £2000.00 costing, PC being delivered, yet a visit to their web-site shows theyve already tweaked the same package. This is accepted as normal in PC buying and selling. At least Sony try to ensure backwards compatibility or some form of recompense.
Sony don`t want you to sell your old games on, so here we are - the first ever games machine that stops you doing just that. Its the first step towards killing the second hand games market.
Don`t let them do it - don`t buy one of these satanic machines.
and to PIB - UMD`s were only criticised because sony was trying to force yet another movie format on us - there was never any criticism of UMD as a medium to store games on.
I know Sony has been criticised about UMD's for years I actually kinda liked the unbelievable magic disks. I guess the UMD debate comes down to personal opinion.
I like the freedom a UMD gives me, playing on a friends PSP, selling / buying games. The downside was the battery life wasn't so great but you could plan around that.
You can't sell a download, you can't lend a download to your friend can you?

It sounds like you've got more money than sense. I know everything progresses and nothing quicker than a PC.
Sony aren't offering any backward compatibility since they announced that they were abandoning the UMD transfer program.
Why would I buy another PSP that limits what I can do with my games?, limits how I can get games? and why would I buy a PSP Go when it's fundamentally the same machine?
