"I wanted to show that it is possible to be serious and at the same time take the name you like."
...and you failed. Still, top marks for effort.
Norwegian bus driver Andreas Jankov has officially become "Julius Andreas Gimli Arn MacGyver Chewbacka Highlander Elessar-Jankov", thereby apparently claiming the country's longest name crown. We're certain that Reg readers will be able to spot where film lover Elessar-Jankov got most of the inspiration for his makeover, but …
There is a techy guy in Cambridge who has the complete name of "Wookie" - he might even read this.
But he has the cheek to complain that websites insist on both given and family names being supplied and that he has to type in Wookie for both. - You chose the name you muppett!
Also the name is more than slightly ironic as he is of much less than average stature!
"And I pity him if he meets a police officer who demands his full name - a night in the cells for taking the mick?"
Reminds me of the chap I used to know who's given name was James Tarbuck (yes really). Got stopped by plod one night who asked his name, the inevitable response was: "Think you're a comedian do you?" The orifice did apologize once he'd seen Jim's license, but he always made a point of carrying with him because of these "amusing" encounters.
Makes you wonder why somebody would create such problems for themself. Does he really like to hear the phrase "Very good now stop pissing about and be serious" so much that he needs to hear it every day?
