What if she isn't moaner?
Well?
iPhone users can now track sexual offenders, and rate their own sexual performance having become aroused playing iWet T-Shirts, but if they want to use Google Voice they'll have to jailbreak their handset. Another day, another series of surreal Apple decisions as to what is acceptable to the average iPhone user: iWet T-Shirts …
>become involved in your child's life, as opposed to allowing the world to raise your child for you.
An American said that? Impressive. No doubt it will be balanced out by a number of lawsuits from parents whose kids went missing and blame the iPhone app for not alerting them about a given paedophile who might or might not have been in the area.
If I worked in Apple approving apps, my only rule would be, 'your okay, as long as you don't use the letter 'i' at teh start of your name, and if you do, i will use my new app iOffender locator* to put you on a map so people can hunt you down. Obviously not to be confused with the Offender Locator up above, that would be a terrible shame, if someone confused the apps, wouldnt it, Mr iShitApp developer?
*yes, iKnow!
Paris, because I wonder if she is on the app approval team down at Infinite loop.
If that's only 23% of the sex offenders in that neighbourhood, I'm glad I don't live near there.
Or - perhaps all those offenders are teenagers who have been prosecuted for sending each other racy pictures taken with their iphones. In which case, we're all safe no matter how many of them there are.
Paris, because she knows about racy pictures.
Do not take children to Terry Hershy Park.
This really is quite odd though - grindr only shows distances for fear that it could be used to target homophobic attacks, yet this happily serves up a local paedo - sorry, sex offender - map with pinpoints for each one!
If you press on the pinpoint does it provide you with their crime, or as someone pointed out will the poor 15 year olds exchanging texts from their bedrooms be lumped in with the jozef fritzls of this world?
Ok, the apps for the stupid Apple phone have long gone from stupid to inane and are now entering the surreal but now that they start mapping [group], I expect the whole thing to self destruct any time.
Please make one that maps non Apple phone users and nearby weapon dealers so this can finally be sorted out in the streets.
And I won't even comment on the "sex offender" thing (pee in the street ? sex offender !). People who download this map app should be scheduled for immediate termination.
kinda says it all about the iPhone fan bois who are lapping up these pointless apps.
Seriously, would anyone argue with a partner after a particularly poor performance... "but my iPhone says i am good at sex" ....
Being geeky may be getting more cool, but not getting laid is never going to be cool and an app like this just says to people you aint gettin it!
Considering studies that show 40% of registrants AND FAMILY MEMBERS of registrants are assaulted or harassed, this tool, if anything, is seen as nothing but a tool for vigilantes. I'm sure crimes committed against *ex offenders will increase. Truth about *ex crimes @ oncefallen dot com
Wow, that's one crazy concentration on the lower left side of the (Microsoft provided, funny) map there! So, that is a park, from what people commented above. But then the app does not show where offenders live, but where offenses occurred. Unless it was homeless people living in the park...
The sex offender app doesn't provide any information that isn't easily available anyway. In the US, most (all?) states have nice user friendly web pages let you search their registries. It may vary by state, but typically offenders are sorted in "levels" based on the crime and supposed risk. It will most likely provide a name and mugshot for all but the lowest level, and probably an exact address too, or there may be an intermediately level that only shows an approximate location.
It does usually tell the crime, but not necessarily in a helpful way. e.g. if it says "gross sexual imposition" you might have to consult the penal code to find out if that means something akin to rape-lite or just indecent exposure.
The whole thing is deeply misguided IMHO. Most sex crimes (against children or otherwise) are not committed by strangers, and for the minority that are, it's the people who've never been caught that you really should really be afraid of... if you insist on living in fear in the first place that is.

Sorry? iPhone owner and "real sex" ... you are kidding aren't you....the nearest any of those get to "sex" is downloading porn (Apple doesn't allow that though) or playing a wet T-shirt game. I stongly doubt that some iPhone owners even know was oanism is...
iPhone owner and sex...hahahaha....you owe me a new keyboard
