back to article 'Miracle' bra saves Detroit woman from robber's bullet

A 57 year old woman was thanking her lucky bras this week after her underwear's underwiring deflected a burglar's bullet. The woman was a witness to a home invasion robbery on the Motor City's North Side. Three men were breaking into a neighbouring house and set off the burglar alarm. As they fled the scene, they noticed the …

    first and only life-saving bra

This survival was due to the bra itself. The Brazilian woman was saved by money. The bra was immaterial. Tsk, let's be clear.

So, we should be looking at Kevlar instead of silicone. Perhaps even a Kevlar beer-gut implant for men?

I'd say the shooter missed rather than bouncing off of a bra.

Paris.....because she has deflected many shots at her breast without the aid of a bra.

So, if a woman wore a lucky bra over her Bulgarian airbags, she'd be almost invincible, right?

I bet Paris already knows the answer to that.

What if the Brazillian bullets were foiled by loose change, rather than foldin' stuff?

    cup size

Hmmm, does cup size determine angle of deflection?

Saved by her bra? No, the window!

    > The woman's daughter said her mother's minor injuries were mainly from the broken glass.

So the neighbour, at a distance of probably >20Metres was actually injured by the flying glass.

I wonder if the bullet had any kinetic energy left when it eventually hit her? If it hit her at all...

    What was the TIT angle?

    Wait a minute

I think we're all missing the most amazing bit of the news item: there's crime in Detroit. I am shocked, SHOCKED I say, to hear this! Why, you'll be saying that there's corruption in Chicago politics next!

What kind of round was it? I mean if it stopped a .22 it's a fairly impressive story, but if it stopped a .45 ACP there must have been a bloody steel band in that bra.

As for the criminals...not very bright are they? If caught they could be charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, etc. Sure she could call the police if not shot at, or she probably would still call if shot at. The only thing they managed to do was to alert more people to their presence by firing a handgun in a populated area. Increasing the punishment without mitigating the risk. Prats.

    Austin Powers anyone

She needs towear a fembot bra, then she could return fire!

If she had bothered to read about Olga the Russian hairdresser, she wouldn't have needed a bra.

She could just have fed the robbers Viagra and repeatedly f**ked them for a couple of days.

...and since she's American, she may in fact be so overweight that it would have killed them outright.

    The safest women?

Clearly she was somewhat challenged in the mammary department or she wouldn't have been wearing a bra with a steel band underwiring. Women who don't have anything significant in the mammary department are clearly more bulletprooof.
