an obvious and sensible fix from Nintendo

32GB should be enough for anyone !

    Not quite...

"but virtual console games can now be saved and loaded directly from the cards."

Just did the update this morning. You have to 'temporarily transfer' downloaded games from the SD card into the Wii system memory before you can play.

Or at least that's what the instructions contained in the update tell you.

At least they've gone some way to addressing the issue.

    Yep

Noticed the flashing disk light this morning at 7am, and let it update.

The new fix for proper use of SD memory is nice, but i'd like to move the junk I previously downloaded to the SD card now. But there seems to be no way of doing that.

Will look again after I get home from work, though.

    Meh

I still can't believe the number of morons that bought a Wii, which is the modern equivalent of the Emperors new clothes...

All those "fantastic" games like Wii Tennis and er.... errr.... eerrr. Were all done years back on the PS2 with the PS2 Eye Toy camera and games, with the added bonus of no controller to accidently throw through the window...

Dress something up in a shiney box, and make it short of supply, and idiots will kill other idiots to get ahold of one......

    Homebrew

According to the hackmii blog (http://hackmii.com/2009/03/system-menu-40-rundown/) this update finally correctly fixes the Twilight buffer overflow hack (4th or 5th time lucky !), so they'll need to reveal one of the other ones they've sat on to allow homebrew installs on the new IOS.

Existing installs of HBC homebrew launcher and the DVDX DVD player survive the upgrade process, however.

    nice update

But does it break a wasabi or drivekey?

BTW: I don't condone piracy. All my backups are just that, backups of my originals.

    re: Meh

If you're throwing controllers through windows, then the whole 'strap' thing (and the constant reminders) might be a bit too technical for you. Sounds like an ideal customer for that 70's VCR lookalike - the Ps3.
