    To be fair...

...new jet orders are typically placed months in advance of delivery. It is entirely likely that the original order was placed before any of this current financial crisis started, and they would likely have had to pay a penalty if the order was cancelled this far into production.

It's unfortunate on the timing of these jets being delivered, since business jets do actually serve a legitimate purpose. Which isn't to say that there aren't corporations abusing their spending power at the top, but we shouldn't be too quick to judge either.

To be fair(ly fast to the office)

... egos are hard to deflate. Way back, there was the 'my mast's bigger than yours' tussle between Larry Ellison and Jim Clark with their yachts. Don't think this is a NetApp jet, this is the man sticking the finger up at the plebs commuting to the Valley up Hwy 1 & 101 in their techie leccy-mobiles. Most of his flights are no more than 15 minutes duration between Monterrey and San Jose.

    To be fair

Two years ago we were just as perfectly aware that private jets are not the most eco-friendly mode of transit.

Just a small observation, delete if appropriate

"Embraer" is the short name of "Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S. A.", Brazilian Aeronautics Enterprise -- "Embraer-Empresa of Brazil" doesn't sound right.

Not sure the purpose of this article.

If it's something someone bought with their own money 2 years ago, why even bother with a comment about the jet unless there's some pent-up antagonism about NetApp's successful history.
