So first we hear about Asus Eee Box desktops using Celeron rather than Atom processors. Now comes word the company's preparing a high-end model with a standalone GPU. Still waiting on the Linux version of the original!

I've been waiting patiently for the Linux version of the Eee Box, even though it's been released in the US it's still unavailable here in the UK.

Looks like I'll be waiting for a Linux version of the new updated product instead - if they ever get around to releasing it that is.

I see the spec says external 35W power supply. Is 35W low enough for these to be passively cooled (no fan)? I'm wondering if these really will be quiet enough to form the basis of an HTPC.
