I can't believe you didn't include "digilante"
Whoops1 Bye!
Mine's the one with the dunce's cap.
Story withdrawn The Register's vulture logo superimposed over a generic TV news studio background
Meh is, apparently, already in a Collins dictionary.
Does that mean as it's accepted by the Great British Public it can't be part of the list as it's no longer 'street' or whatever those young whippersnappers call it nowadays.
(And it's accepted by any spell checker lurking on my machine)
"favourite movie, or pair of underpants"
Is that fovourite move or favourite pair of underpants; or just to pick A pair out of a pile of them.
I mean; just close your eyes; stick your hand into the pile, and pull out a pair. how hard can that be unless you're planning on going commando?
Wait a mo'...picking a coat and heading out door.
Fanboy I don't know about, but I thought that MILF was populalised by American Pie and chesticles is, I'm almost certain, a Viz gag (or has at least been used as one, probably in the profanisaurus). Not like it matters though, since twatdangle is clearly the best of the lot by a country mile.

I thought that one came in l33tsp33k, as b0rked.
BTW, what's b0rken? Never heard that version of "b0rked".
pr0n could've been another neologism (I think it came to be to fool auto-censors) but then, knowing El Reg's readers, that would win hands down. w00t!
BTW, I prefer the "0wned" original spelling than the more recent "pwned" typo-joke version.
Just to echo what far too many others have said, most of these are years (some decades) old and many did not originate on the interconnected series of tubes.
I would have voted for "poopsock" had it been present. It's not new either but it's an awesomely gross concept.
The heart icon doesn't get enough love, so I had to use it.
Has to be listed as the best quote of the year: "wikifiddler, It captures web 2.0 circlejerking in all it's glory."
I mean seriously, after a good 20 minutes of pondering and serious introspection, I can't think of any better way to capture the true essence of all that is identified as "web 2.0".
Bravo Gordon! I tip a pint or 12 in honor of your vision.
Luser. borked, w00t and troll have been in use for well over a decade. They date back to the days of USENET, before those newfangled *NIX GUIs like X, when real users needed nothing more than a terminal and knowledge - KNOWLEDGE I SAY! - of the *NIX environment.
Freetard and FAIL are briliant IMNSHO.
Especially freetard. I know a few people who refuse to use ATI or Nvidia drivers for their video cards because the driver source is not GPL - but they bought the video card?!
FAIL, despite it's brilliance, is a term I heard from engineering students as far back as 1990. In about 1994 I listened to a most entertaining disquisition from a programmer friend on the subject of why X, in all it's baroque glory, was a fail.
Mine is the one with memory in the pocket.

Half of those "terms" never originated on the net. They're merely words from pop-culture, over-used by pre-teens on social networking sites and chat channels in a lame attempt at appearing "net-savvy". So much so, that one cannot read a single string of posts without encountering one of the wretched things.
Of course, I can hardly blame the author for not having the interest required to research their origins. I certainly don't care that much.
Pwned FTW!
