    Bundle opportunity

Perhaps they could bundle it with the new-shape Honda Civic?

    Hideous beyond words.

Digital zoom? Please... what a waste.

8x Digital Zoom means nothing. It'll just turn crap photos into even more crappy zoomed shots.

Optical zoom is actually what you want.

    Re Digital zoom?

While optical zoom is undoubtedly better than digital zoom, it is not really what you would expect from a phone with this size and target group.

The added lenses and focus actuators adds size.

And digital zoom is still better than having to edit your images in the cases where you really only want a section of the full-size image.

Digital zoom on a 2Mpix camera is also quite fine when you are recording video (at a much lower resolution - so only using a fraction of the full sensor area anyway).

Digital zoom is in other words better than no zoom at all.

8 times digital zoom is probably a bit much on a 2Mpix sensor. But the resulting resolution of 200x150 pixels is at least still useable.

Nokia could easily have claimed even further digital zoom - how about 400 times zoom = 4x3 pixels?
