cost
I hope it wasn't a terribly expensive one! I doubt the insurance/warrenty covers that...
A German chap who demonstrated his frustration with his PC by throwing it out of the window escaped a fine when police oficers decided they rather sympathised with his actions. According to the Evening Standard, Hanover cops were alerted in the middle of night by neighbours who reported a "loud crash" outside their apartment …
to suggest that maybe it was a Spectrum with rubber keys? It used to really p*ss me off because I have large fingers. reminds me of the Simpsons joke where Homer cant press the keys.
Still, cant understand him throwing it out of the window....if it was an iPhone then yeah ok ;)
"a Spectrum with rubber keys?"
It would have been too light to smash down to earth with a loud crash. Instead, it would have fluttered off into the night and landed several miles away, with a quiet clattering noise. Perhaps the machine was an ancient and heavy PS2, in which case it might still work.
A german getting pissed off and over-reacting. Heard that one before.
I worked pc repair, and I can firmly say if he's anything like your average user, his brower was probobly clogged with spyware, pop-ups (porn) and was more than likely locked up on something particularly nasty.
Or he just could be an idiot.
BOFH offered all the lusers in his company the joy of tossing eletronic equipment from the top of the building before this german boffin.
Here it is:
BOFH: Danger, Falling Computing Peripherals
Episode 6 It'll all end in tears

P.S. Not to mention I loved reading it again.
Oh no don't try to make this out to be anything
Linux vs Windows at any particular time the damn
machine will make you mad as hell any OS, any time
he just had a self control problem it depends on how
mad it made him I have seriously considered this on
many occaisions instead I have learned to torture
computers not kill it force it to do what it hates over and
over crash OK reboot hahahahaha bastard suffer. Well
it beats losing your PC and going to jail anyway.
Of course if it had happened in England the chap would probably be locked up now awaiting investigation for terrorism - having caused an explosion- and the tabloids would be having a feild day describing the neighbourhood as in SHOCK, or PANICING, whilst living in TERROR at the HORROR they now feel regarding falling consumer electronics.
P.S. Was it just the computer case he threw out? I have visions of a real Blue-screen-of-death decending from the skies and landing on some hapless passerby.
