A Texan former porn star has been slapped with a lawsuit for "stealing" a former classmate's name as her "nom de sex", the Houston Chronicle reports. i was told.....
I was always told the way to get your pornstar name was to take the name of your first pet and the name of the first streen you lived on. the pet's name being your first name and the street name being your last name..as such my would be "jody woodway" and i'm trademarking it right now so if I see it lawsuits will follow....:-P

I think that the best surname for a nom de sexe would probably be Wildish. According to yournotme.com there are 460 of them in the uk so you're unlikely to pick a real full name from that one.
No, that is not my name just a name of someone I vaguely knew long ago. I'll be polite and skip the first name.

Name Cloning is a US National Sport
In the good old U S of A , the Federal Trade Commissioner issues an annual report compiled from both State and Federal Fraud crimes listings and last year some 670,000 incidents of stolen names , were recorded , or 0.2% of the entire population , is subject to some sort of name theft.
In one particular intriguing incident the parents of a new born 5 month old child received a hospital bill dated 4 months previously where it was alleged he had walked into a clinic and received a spinal injection for back pain!
Oh well , nothing new , but given that most porno stars are only paid for appearance money on the day of the shoot and no residuals , or any other payment , it is unlikely she will score all that much money even if she wins, the real profits normally end up the hands of the Mafia nine times out of ten, with the director and film crew barely making a living.
Further in Traci Lords book , she stated simply that in the 100 or or so porn movies in which she was the star attraction she was under the age of 18! , this industry is truly the back end of the film industry in all ways! Or how soon we forget , it has been part and parcel of the photographic industry since the invention of the first film camera!
Let us hope she wins , but ultimately it will be a hollow victory!

My Porn Name
The first time I saw the Slax-based security-oriented live CD named "KC Pentrix" I thought it said "KC Penetrix." As such, I declared right then that if I were to become a pornstar, my psuedonym would have to be Casey Penetrix. I do hope that no real people have that particular last name...
Coincidentally (and off topic...) I decided that if I ever become a rapper I'd have to be MC Trouser Snake, or, failing that, MC Free Ball.
Too bad I've got just about no chance of ever using any of my awesome titles.

On a related note, there is a female sports reporter on Oz named Tiffany Cherry (Yes, that really is her name). I used to see her when she was a physiotherapist, and a couple of times I had to claim on health insurance for 'remedial massage'.
