Amazing

Watching this from abroad (Europe) it just never seizes to amaze me how easily the British public is letting, and I guess already has let, the army and the government bend them over. All the surveillance and "the terrorist hunt". Of course you have history with rebels who've messed with your powers at be, but you know, reading this kind of news where they're naming the system Skynet just makes me pause.

It was probably meant to be taken as a joke but with all the news AND the rumours of how things really are this kind of joking seems just macabre. Don't let the lube run out!

P.S. And I'm not saying other countries are that far behind you. I guess UK is just spilling the beans more openly about the amount of control the government, the major corporations and the money men are holding. Let's not forget that Britain, as well as the rest of Europe, basically operated under the feudal system for about a thousand years. Old systems of control die hard; we just like to change the titles of the Dukes and Earls periodically so people will feel like progress is being made.

America is totally feudalistic at this point, as well, so don't feel like you're alone in this.

As usual there is a fatal flaw...

So the MoD are going to do this. Hmm this is the same MoD who can't even supply a flak vest or guns that actually work. Still they could always revert to the alternate tincan and wet string system when the cash runs out.

You can always try it out in afghanistan where no doubt an 80 year old triibesman and his 10 year old grandson will be able to disable the system with a sardine tin some wire and a copy of the kabul times.
