What is better than being locked into AI solutions you do not understand, don't have the capability to develop yourself and whose cost is expected to skyrocket?

Of course being locked into AI solutions you do not understand, don't have the capability to develop yourself and whose cost is expected to skyrocket AND to additionally being locked into a "standalone AI-native enterprise services firm" that wires every process firmly into their own service portfolio to manage and operate that AI solutions.

This would result in complete financial and technical loss of control for customers.

On the other hand, companies have managed before to become locked into (arbitrary example) Microsoft AND Capita, so they might find customers/victims anyway.

Even better, not just to be locked into standalone AI solutions you don't understand, don't have the capability to develop yourself, whose cost is expected to skyrocket (just to cover costs never mind make a profit) and be locked into standalone AI-native enterprise services firms, but those 'standalone AI-native enterprise services firms' are backed by private equity who's only care is to ensure that they can maximise their own profit in the near to medium with absolutely no concept of long-term sustainability for clients or even the capabilities built...

To fund the standalone services company, Anthropic has partnered with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs. McConnell sees this as a way for Anthropic to quickly get early wins under its belt.

“They have the portfolio companies that fall under these large conglomerates that generate sales pipeline for them,” he said. “If you're a portfolio company owned by Goldman Sachs, you will not be running on OpenAI's platform. It's as simple as that.”
